Since high school Ferdinand Naudin has been involved with merging musical projects of some of sort, starting early with an awkward crossbreed of punk attitude with hippie perspective that got him involved in, let’s say, rather clashing and misty artistic situations.
Since then, the advent of home studio, then even better, laptop computers, allowed for a welcome escape from the rather demanding biotope populated with bulky stacks of incredibly loud guitar amplifiers, overloaded vans and other deafening entities such as drummers and upset lead singers.
Then a long lasting violent pain in the neck, surprisingly preventing Ferdinand Naudin to play guitar consecutively for more than 812 seconds, helped him make the appropriate quantum leap from the “lots of strings shaken by at least ten fingers” loom to a neat and simple musical approach involving mostly a mouse, a friendly looking TFT screen and the right hand’s first finger. Out of this new slant came out a few interesting experiences, such as video games, commercials and film scoring, live shows sound design and recently Symphologic, a laptop based real time live experimental orchestra.
Ironically, it was lately discovered than a) guitar was the source of the pain in the neck, b) all it took was a couple of visits to a good chiropractor c) there was no point making all this fuss about it.
